Use Chocolate to Increase Your Sales
Kids and adults love chocolate covered pretzels. We added $15 in sales over two hours to our last lemonade stand by selling these tasty pretzels. Adults seemed to prefer plain while kids consistently chose the ones with sprinkles.
These are very inexpensive to make. We bought a big tub of pretzel rods at Costco and the chocolate chips at our local grocery store.
We used our lemonade stand to raise money for a cause and we charged $1 per pretzel.
To make chocolate covered pretzels:
1) Melt chocolate chips in the microwave
Using a microwave-safe container, place chocolate in microwave oven at medium power (50 percent) for 1 to 11/2 minutes. Remove and stir. If chocolate is not melted, return to microwave and repeat heating step, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid scorching.
2) Dip pretzel rods in melted chocolate and turn to coat. Cover about two thirds of the pretzel. You can dip immediately in sprinkles to decorate them a bit more. We found that it was good to have some with sprinkles and some without. Our adult customers seemed to favor the sprinkle free version.
3) Place on wax paper to dry. The chocolate will harden as it dries.
Now that’s what we call sweet!!
